Colour systems

In order to reproduce colour accurately in different applications, it is important to use our specific colour formulas which have been tested and converted to be consistent across different media.

Be sure to choose the correct colour system according to your paper type and printing method, which is explained as following:

Pantone (PMS):

This colour formula is used only when offset printing with spot (Pantone) colours. It is the most accurate method of reproducing colours. For example: stationery.

CMYK:

This colour formula is used for 4-colour process printing and digital printing. It is the most commonly used formula for Volue printed materials, since it is best for printing applications that contain full colour images. For example: brochures, posters and product sheets.

RGB / Hex:

This colour formula is used for digital, on-screen applications only. For example: our website, web banners, animations and powerpoint presentations.

File formats

There are different file formats for different uses.

PNG

PNG is a format for digital surfaces. It is well suited for graphics and illustrations in screen-based media because it reproduces colours and clean lines in high quality. If you want to use the logo as a profile picture in social media, or are working with icons in a presentation, PNG is the format you want to use.

SVG

SVG is a format especially developed for the web, and uses mathematical calculations instead of pixels. SVG is often used for logos, icons and other simple graphic elements on websites. It is recommended to have some design and technical knowledge to use this format.

It is often used to reproduce logos and illustrations on websites. It is a vector-based format, so graphics will always be sharp and in high quality.

JPG

JPG is perhaps the one most people are familiar with. JPG is used primarily for photography because of its capability to reproduce complex motifs and details, as photographs often are.

For other simple illustration graphics, the PNG format is better suited because JPG is a more compressed format, which can make the quality and colours of the graphics grainy.

EPS

EPS is a vector-based format, and often the format in which master files of logos are exported. Vectorized EPS files can be scaled up and down in size without affecting quality, and are often used for logos in printing and production.

PDF

PDF is an accessible and easy-to-use format, originally developed for documents, but can also render logos and graphics in sharp quality. It is most often used for printing materials.

INDT

Template documents for Adobe InDesign for creating posters, brochures and various printed matter.
